Nick Carter (born 28 April 1978) is a former professional Australian rules footballer who played for Fitzroy, Brisbane and Melbourne in the AFL and Bendigo in the VFL.
After playing TAC Cup for Bendigo, Carter was drafted by Fitzroy in the 1995 draft. He played 17 games in his first season, which turned out to be Fitzroy's last season in the AFL. When the troubled club merged with Brisbane, he was one of eight Fitzroy players to join the new Brisbane Lions. Carter played just five games in his two seasons at Brisbane, and at the end of 1998 was traded to Melbourne. He made three senior appearances for the Demons before being delisted at the end of 1999.
Carter returned to Bendigo to play for the region's VFL side, then named the Diggers. In eight seasons at the club he won the best and fairest (which was later named after him), and spent a period as captain. He returned to his junior club, Golden Square in the Bendigo Football League, in 2008, playing for two seasons before retiring and taking the role as the club's coach.
