Matt Clape (born 28 May 1969) is a former professional Australian rules footballer who played for West Coast and Carlton in the AFL and East Perth in the WAFL.

Originally from Margaret River, Clape was drafted by West Coast in 1990 but had to wait until midway through 1992 to make his AFL debut. He played 29 games for the Eagles but was not selected in either the 1992 or 1994 premiership sides, although he was an emergency for the former. Clape was delisted at the end of 1994 and joined Carlton through the pre-season draft. He was an instant success at the Blues, receiving three Brownlow Medal votes in his first game and playing in Carlton's premiership that season. He played 58 games in four seasons, before announcing his retirement at the end of 1998.
