No.69, 2003 AFL national draft
Jordan Bannister (born 31 October 1982) is a former professional Australian rules footballer who played for Essendon and Carlton in the AFL.
After playing TAC Cup for Calder, Bullen was drafted by Essendon in the 2000 national draft. He spent three years with the Bombers but was unable to cement a spot in the senior side, playing just 14 AFL games in that time, and was delisted at the end of 2003. Thrown a lifeline by Carlton, Bannister played 17 games in his first season as a Blue and finished in the top ten of the club's best and fairest. He added five games in 2005, and another 12 games in each of 2006 and 2007. Bannister played the first five games of the 2008 season, but was not then seen again at senior level until midway through 2009, when he made two more appearances. He was delisted at the end of the year after 67 AFL games, 53 of them for Carlton.
Bannister moved into umpiring, taking advantage of a push by the AFL to have former players join its umpiring ranks. He umpired in the VFL for two years before taking charge in his first AFL match in the opening round of 2012. Bannister stepped down from umpiring ahead of the 2017 season, having umpired almost 100 AFL games.
