John Hynes (born 23 February 1979) is a former professional Australian rules footballer who played for Carlton in the AFL and Frankston in the VFL.
Originally from Cheltenham, Hynes played TAC Cup for Prahran before being drafted by Carlton late in the 1997 national draft. He made four senior appearances late in the 1998 season, and was named the reserves' best and fairest that year. Hynes did not add to that tally in 1999, and was delisted at the end of the year.
Hynes spent two years with Edithvale-Aspendale in the Mornington Peninsula Nepean Football League before returning to state league football with Frankston.
