David Schwarz (born 24 July 1992) is a former professional Australian rules footballer who played for Melbourne in the AFL.

Recruited locally from Sunbury, Schwarz made his debut in the opening round of 1991, playing six games for the year. He played all 22 games in 1992 and finished third in Melbourne's best and fairest count. After an injury-affected 1993, Schwarz again played every game in 1994, kicking 60 goals including a career-best nine-goal haul against Sydney, and leading the league in marks. Unfortunately, multiple knee reconstructions limited him to just two games in 1995 and none in 1996. Schwarz returned midway through 1997, and won the Demons' best and fairest in 1999 after kicking 38 goals from 22 games. He played every game in 2000 and kicked 31 goals, but went goalless in the grand final as Melbourne were beaten by Essendon. Beginning to slow in 2001, Schwarz nevertheless played all but one game, making his 150th appearance during the year, and again finished third in the best and fairest. He announced his retirement midway through 2002, having kicked 243 goals from 173 games.

Schwarz moved into the media, working as a commentator and drive-time host on radio station SEN and appearing on Channel Seven. He also became an anti-gambling campaigner after admitting he had lost millions while suffering from a gambling addiction.
