David Neitz (born 22 January 1975) is a former professional Australian rules footballer who played for Melbourne in the AFL.

Recruited locally from Parkmore, Neitz made his debut in the opening round of the 1993 season and played 20 games for the year, winning the Harold Ball Memorial Trophy as the Demons' best young player. He was named an All-Australian in 1995, and led Melbourne's goalscoring in 1996, 1997 and 1999. Appointed as Demons' captain in 2000 following the retirement of Todd Viney, Neitz led the side to the Grand Final that year. He had a career year in 2002, becoming the Demons' first Coleman Medalist after booting 82 goals, and was named an All-Australian for the second time as well as winning Melbourne's best and fairest. Neitz kicked more than 60 goals in each of 2003, 2004 and 2006, leading the club's goalscoring for seven seasons throughout his career. During the 2006 season he became Melbourne's games and goals record holder. He played his 200th game late in the 2007 season, the first Demon to do so, but was forced to retire during 2008 due to a neck injury. Neitz finished with 631 goals from 306 games, both of which remain Melbourne records as of 2019. His nine seasons as skipper is also a club record.
