Brent Harvey (born 14 May 1978) is a former professional Australian rules footballer who played for North Melbourne in the AFL.
After playing TAC Cup for the Northern Knights, Harvey was drafted by North Melbourne in 1995 and made his debut in the final round of 1996, his only game of the year as North went on to win the premiership. He was a regular in the side by 1999, and had 21 possessions in the Kangaroos' grand final win over Carlton. The following year, Harvey kicked 35 goals from 25 games and was named in the All-Australian side. Harvey played his 150th game in the final round of 2003, and won North Melbourne's best and fairest at the end of the year. Joined briefly at the club by younger brother Shane in 2004, he won a second best and fairest in 2005, and was again named an All-Australian.
After making his 200th appearance during 2006, Harvey kicked a career-high 36 goals during 2007 and won a third best and fairest and third All-Australian jumper. He also finished equal second in the Brownlow Medal behind Geelong's Jimmy Bartel. He was best and fairest and an All-Australian again in 2008, and the following year was named North Melbourne captain after Adam Simpson stepped down. Harvey played his 300th game late in the 2010 season and won the Syd Barker Medal as the Kangaroos' best and fairest for the fifth time. The following year, he passed Glenn Archer as North Melbourne's games record holder. Harvey handed over the captaincy to Andrew Swallow in 2012 but played on, making his 350th appearance during 2013. He reached the 400-game milestone in a win over Brisbane in 2015, becoming just the fourth player in history to do so, and the following year became the league's all-time games record holder, going past Michael Tuck when he played his 427th game. Although keen to play on for a 22nd season, Harvey announced his retirement at the end of 2016 when it became clear that North Melbourne would not offer him a new contract, setting a new league record of 432 games.
Harvey then played local football with North Heidelberg in the Northern Football League, taking over as playing-coach in 2019.
