("Born to Great Things")
The Adelaide Football Club was formed in 1990 as a new addition to the expanding Victorian Football League, after the SANFL clubs blocked a bid by one of their number, Port Adelaide, to join the newly-national competition. The Crows have been relatively successful, qualifying for the finals in their third season and winning their first premiership in 1997, the second club from outside Victoria to do so. They went back-to-back in 1998 but are yet to win a grand final since that time.
